Hey everyone and anyone that can lend a helping hand. I have a project that I am being asked to add some animations of Solidworks or "3D" models of machine assemblies into a AB Panelview Plus 700. The goal is to add troubleshooting assistance. The HMI is running a labeling machine with various faults from sensors and whatnot, the customer has lots of turn over and wants a intuitive way for the operators to know how to what any fault is when it occurs and how to resolve it.
Current state of the machines HMI is:
-Has alarm banner on Main Display, this pops up whenever a fault occurs and lists the names of only active faults.
-There is also a "Fault Screen" this has screen navigation buttons for all the faults of the machine in like a table format and when a fault is active there is a indicator next to each fault that will become visible. The operator can push the screen navigation button for any fault and it will jump to that specific fault's screen which has a description of the fault and how to resolve it, and a picture of the machines fault location/device/sensor.
The office printer has 3D animations on how to clear a paper jam, so I would think Rockwell would have to have way of adding something similar?
The idea is simple, I just haven't done this before and wondering if anyone else has helpful suggestions or "Do's/Don't".
Thanks for anything
